Apprenticeship Pathway:
- An apprentice must be registered with the proper provincial authority. In Ontario you must have an active Registered Training Agreement (RTA) and be listed on the Skilled Trades Ontario Public Register.
- After the in-class and on-the-job training are completed, apprentices can then apply to take the Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) exam.
Apprenticeships Are:
- Regulated by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development.
- Structured with practical on-the-job training – this means you earn while you learn!
- Consists of 3 levels of in-class theoretical instruction.
- Supervised and trained by a qualified tradesperson or licensed journeyperson.
